Jan Dillon

Jan Dillon is a CMP Cambridge (CMPC) Founder and Managing Partner. 

 

Jan plays a leading role in managing CMP Cambridge’s consulting, leadership coaching and organizational development practice areas and operations. 

Jan has 25 years of corporate experience with IBM in the areas of business strategy development and

execution, large scale organizational transformation, marketing and sales management, client satisfaction, and sustainable supply chain operations. Jan has worked closely with clients representing a variety of industries and sectors in the private and public domain. Jan held responsibilities within IBM as an Executive for IBM’s Global Supply Chain, Sales and Distribution across North America, Principal in the IBM Management Consulting Group and manager across various sales and marketing business units.

As an IBM Executive Jan most recently held global responsibility within the Integrated Supply Chain for client satisfaction ‘end to end’ including suppliers, internal sales and supply chain functions, business partners and ultimate clients to ensure their satisfaction. Jan and her global team also had the responsibilities to drive cross-functional innovation, to identify and implement ‘green’ environmental & sustainable practices across the supply chain, including collaboration with IBM’s revered Watson Innovation Labs, and to lead investment decisions across the portfolio of business investment options.

Prior to her WW Integrated Supply Chain Executive role, Jan was a Principal in the IBM Consulting Group. Her team focused on Business Strategy, Market Management and Organizational Change. Their clients were global and included a variety of industries and market segments, including Senior Executives representing IBM global businesses.

Jan was also an executive within IBM’s North American Global Sales and Distribution organization, and with her team, were charged with driving organizational culture change and implementing Customer Relationship Management tools, processes and behavioral changes. Jan also held various roles in Sales, Marketing and Human Resources.

Some examples of projects Jan led include:

  • Green Supply Chain - created a team of 50+ global cross functional leaders, secured funding and senior

    executive commitment, identified opportunities with the greatest return on investment and implemented those projects to improve environmental sustainability across IBM’s global supply chain. Scope included clients, suppliers, business partners, sales, manufacturing, procurement and logistics

  • Client Satisfaction - led a global team focused on anticipating, analyzing and resolving highest impact client satisfaction issues within the end to end supply chain.

  • Innovation - developed education and incentives to encourage employees to integrate innovation into their daily jobs. This included delivery of work sessions and education globally to business units, sponsoring best practices seminars and incentives for patent applications across business units traditionally less focused on applied innovation.

  • Diversity Management - created a unique organizational culture change assessment and implementation model. First applied to IBM’s North American Sales organization, then applied to various external clients including major Wall Street Financial organizations. As part of this effort Jan created and implemented a mentor program for high potential employees.

Jan earned a Masters of Sustainability and Environmental Management from Harvard University in 2011. She is a 1995 graduate of Emory University’s Executive MBA (Atlanta GA, US) with an emphasis on International Business and Large Scale Business Transformation. Jan also earned her Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Michigan State University (East Lansing MI, US) with emphasis on computer science and business management.

Jan is founder and president of Fortunes Rocks Conservation, LLC focused on land conservation and sustainable property development in Kennebunkport Maine, US. She also founded A Public Good, LLC which has provided the foundation for work in Nepal and Kashmir.

Jan has held numerous advisory board positions including the American Institute for Managing Diversity at Moorehouse College (Atlanta GA, US), Cambridge Climate Change Committee (Mass, USA) and Dress for Success, focused on helping under-served women develop skills to successfully enter the workforce.
